Single Element Transducers

Elcometer Single Element Transducers are designed for the thickness measurement of thin materials with precision.

Transducer List

 

A single element transducer consists of single crystal element housed in casing. The single crystal both transmits and receives the sound energy. It is common for a Single Element Transducer to be supplied with a delay-line to enable precision measurements on thinner materials.

 

Frequency and Diameter Disks

Transducers are selected by the frequency and size of the crystal. Frequency of the appropriate transducer is determined by the type of material and expected thickness range. The choice of the crystal size is determined by the access, shape and surface finish of the object to be measured.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Delay Line

Small part used with single element transducers to slow the sound pulse down to allow measurement on thinner materials. Can only be used with the precision gauges.

Intelligent Single Element Transducers

 

When selecting a transducer it is important to choose one which will meet the specific application’s needs. The type of material to be tested, the measurement range, the shape of the substrate (curved or flat) and the size of the material should be considered when selecting the appropriate transducer. All part numbers starting with ‘TXC’ are Microdot Right Angle transducers and are supplied with a calibration certificate.

Standard Single Element Transducers

 

When used with an adaptor, this range of transducers is also suitable for use with the Elcometer 3071 precision thickness gauges. The Elcometer adaptor allows dual element, 'non-intelligent' and other transducers with Lemo Connectors from Elcometer and other manufacturers to be used with the Elcometer 307 thickness gauge.
